Daryn Kagan is an American broadcast journalist and she was the news anchor before on CNN. Since 1994 until 2006, she was the main anchor of CNN and she was based on the world headquarters of CNN in Atlanta in Georgia State. She was anchoring CNN live Today and it was shown from 10am until 12pm on the Eastern Time for over 8 years. She was the host of the People magazine on CNN news entertainment program and in People in the News. She served earlier as the CNN sports reporter and as anchor at the same time. Daryn Kagan grew up in the Beverly Hills of California and she graduated in the year 1981 from Beverly Hills High School and she was running cross-county. She graduated in Stanford University. When she graduated from Stanford, she sent many demo tapes in different places and she was hired to be on the air job for Santa Barbara television station called KEYT-TV. Her next move was to work as a general assignment reporter for the position of KTVK in the phoenix city. Since she wanted to do something more than just reporting about the news stories, she started to work on the weekends sports anchor and she was reporting for the news every weekend besides her job on the weekdays where she was on reporting duties.
When KTVK failed to renew its contract with Kagan, the head of the CNN/SI called Jim Walton decided to hire her to be a correspondent and sports anchor. She went on to cover even more events as International figure skating, NBA playoffs and Super Bowl.
Daryn Kagan is of Jewish origins and her great-grandfather was an immigrant from Russian who was called Eiser Cohen and he came to USA through the Ellis Island. He settled in Wisconsin in Milwaukee and her grandfather called Jack Kagan moved to Los Angeles afterwards. Her mother survived breast cancer and she talks about it on CNN. She had a young sister called Kallan and she is executive for Arc Production and she had an older brother who is called Mark. Daryn Kagan was athlete when she was in high school and she continues to be an avid runner. She gives the insight about this sport at ESPN sports radio. In the year 2004, she was involved romantically with the radio talk show host called Rush Limbaugh but they did not last longer. She had adopted a three legged cat called Tripod and the dog called Darla Louise that she got from the rescue shelters.
