David Andrews

David Andrews is known as an American football center for the New England Patriots of the National Football League.

Background

David Andrews went to high school at Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. He started playing football in high school where he was a two-way lineman. During his sophomore year, Wesleyan won the 2008 GHSA Class A state championship. In his junior and senior season, his coaches credited him with over a hundred knockdown blocks while not allowing a quarterback sack.

To culminate his high school career, Andrews was named 2010 Gwinnett County Offensive Lineman of the Year and made the All-County First Team Offense of the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Football runs strong in David’s family as his uncle, Dan Reeves is a former Cowboys player and Broncos coach.

Career

For his college football career, he played college football at the University of Georgia.

Andrews signed a three-year contract extension with the Patriots through the 2020 season on May 12, 2017. He was named a Patriots captain for the first time in his career on September 5, 2017. He ended up starting 17 of 19 games for the Patriots, including their unfortunate Super Bowl LII loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017.
