David Haye is a former professional boxer who has held multiple world championships and who was the first British boxer to reach the final of the World Amateur Boxing Championships. David Haye was born on October 13, 1980, in Bermondsey, London, England. During his professional career, David fought in thirty two matches, winning twenty eight and losing four. Twenty six of his wins were by knockout. Haye became a unified cruiserweight champion in 2008 and won three of the four major titles. In that same year, Haye moved up to heavyweight. In 2009, as a heavyweight, Haye won the WBA title by defeating Nikolai Valuev.
Valuev’s reach was nine inches longer than Haye’s, and he outweighed Haye by nearly one hundred pounds. The victory meant that David Haye would become only one of two boxers in the world to win both the unified cruiserweight and heavyweight titles. In 2008, Haye founded his own boxing promotional firm, Hayemaker Promotions, under which he created his own documentary reality show called David Haye versus. Haye currently lives in Bechenham with his wife, Natasha, and his son, Cassius, purportedly named after Cassius Clay. David Haye launched his own line of vegan protein products and in 2014 he was named one of PETA’s Sexiest Vegan Celebrities of 2014 in the United Kingdom.
