Towards the end of 2011, Otunga began to revisit his legal career. Encouraged by a fellow wrestler, he utilized his law background to advise peers, including assisting other wrestlers such as Curtis Axel with legal matters. Although his in-ring appearances became less frequent, Otunga remained connected to WWE.
