Dustin Diamond

Best known for playing the role of iconic nerd Samuel Screech Powers in the television sitcom Saved by the Bell and it's three spinoffs including the original Disney series Good Morning, Miss Bliss for 12 years (from age 11 to 23), Dustin Diamond's post Saved By The Bell: The New Class Days achievements have been shadowed by his ever-arising controversies.

Now moving on to his physical configuration, Dustin is a tall man with the height of 5 feet and 11.5 inches. An American national of mixed ethnicity (father-Ashkenazi Jewish and mother- English, Irish, Scottish), Dustin currently enjoys a short hairstyle, and a full beard Van Dyke style beard. Previously, he was famous for his Jewfro hairstyle. Nevertheless, he has a tall-slender body.

Talking about his relationship status, Dustin is a committed man. He is engaged to his fiancée Amanda Schutz, a weighted beauty with blue-highlighted medium length hair. Previously, he was married to his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Misner (divorced 2009).

Jenifer and Dustin went through a miscarriage in December 2004. Later, the grief stricken couple opened the Dustin Diamond Foundation to support organizations that specializes in child care.

As of 2015, he is in a legal mess. But fortunately, his previous jail sentence has been put on hold. If you didn't know, he was charged with felony in late 2014 after a stabbing incident during a bar brawl. However, he was originally convicted of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. According to him, he got involved in the bar brawl only in safe defense and to save his girlfriend.

Unfortunately for Diamond, this isn't the first time he's faced controversy since playing the role of lovable nerd Screech. His past controversies include "Ponzi scheme-loan controversy", "Sex-tape controversy" and "publishing a controversial book".

Born on January 7, 1977, in San Jose, California, U.S., to computer savvy parents (father – digital electronics teacher for a computer processing firm, and mother- computer operator for Pacific Bell), Dustin Neil Diamond started his on-screen career at the age of 10 with the role of Young Stiles in the movie  The Price of Life.

Post Saved By the Bell saga, Diamond has appeared on numerous on-screen roles (tv, movies and television), has ignited his stand-up comedy career and has revived his musical interest (plays bass and writer) forming a band, but he hasn't found success similar to Screech.

Diamond is a classic example of "child actors who couldn't make it Big in Hollywood." After Saved By the Bell ended, Diamond went through a hard transitional phase. Often, such transitional phase demands the child turned mature actor to be a smart decision maker. The person should be extremely critical in choosing right roles and also in media interaction.

Maybe playing a role for such a long time limited him to be a versatile actor. Maybe he was confused by the ways of Hollywood. Be what as it may, he won million of hearts playing the most popular nerd of 90's in Saved by the Bell.

Whatever be the case, Diamond decision of leaking his own sex tape (with two women) invited him lots of criticism in 2006. According to Diamond (from interview on Oprah Winfery Network), the one thing he is most embarrassed about is the decision of releasing the sex tape screeched.

Then, it was 2009 when he released his book Behind the Bell, which included his Saved by the Bell experiences including his past personal experience. In the book, he not only criticizes bad behavior of his colleagues from the show, but also reveals his astonishing past such as sleeping with 2000 woman (with some popular name included), and drugs and teen sex allegations on the set.

Here, you can read what he said in his Oprah interview:

"The hardest thing for a child star is giving up your childhood…….You don't get a childhood really. I mean, professionally you got to know your lines, rehearse and practice. You know, it was making sure that you were the funniest in the best you could be because if you weren't funny you could be replaced.

I didn't know what I was going to do. It was hard to get work that wasn't screech con stuff. I wanted year two off just to myself cuz I felt like I earned it. You know, I have been working the last 10 years every single week and I felt lost.  As I matured, I realize wow I was going to my rebellious teens in my twenties.

The sex-tape is the thing that I am most embarrassed about. My buddy was at my house and the rumor I think that had been put on TV was Paris Hilton had made $14 million dollars of the sex tape. And, my buddy said 14 million holy smokes that where is a Screech tape. You got to be worth at least a million. And I thought yeah, yeah maybe. And, that's as simple as it was and in my stupidity I thought you know I could totally fake this. I can get a stunt person to take my place. It's my face but nothing else. Looking back now at in my thirties I realize that was really dumb you know. I definitely got some money off it but it wasn't worth what the fallout was. I mean people to this day they look down on me. There's a lot of people they are like oh you know 'how disgusting of you" and I didn't really do it.

The book was another disappointment applying I was a first-time author. So, they had a ghost-writer. I talked to a guy few times. So, the book has some truth in it and a lot of stories were just kind of throways like you know; all kids were smoking pot and you know having sex behind the scenes. That came about from another just another throway statement of…so was anybody doing drugs or sleeping together on the set?

Well what do you think there is one chick with hormones and you know fifteen-sixteen years old. That turned into you know factual trash talking about everybody which really was - I have good thoughts and memories towards everybody. I expected that was gonna be sent a copy to proofread and okay, thumbs up and thumbs down. And I was sent the copy- Oh this is done. What? Oh man there's gonna be fallout of that."

One of the inductee of BBC 3 Top 100 Annoying People List of 2006, Dustin was once labeled as one of the greatest kid stars by many. His current net worth is speculated to be around 500 thousand US dollars. Well, he has suffered a lot in terms of finance in the past. In 2006, he was trying to sell 30, 000 t-shirts at $15 – 20 each to save his $250,000 home. The home was previously bought in a contract.
