He met Sharri Maio on a blind date in 2007 and got married to her. His wife had lost her previous husband, Joseph Maio, in the Twin Tower tragedy, and she had a seven-year-old son, Devon, from that marriage. He now lives with her, two kids (the couple had a daughter, Dylan), three dogs, and a picket fence. He once said that he is very blessed to have her and Devon in his life. Sharri brought peace and serenity to Adam's life, and they looked like they were a happy couple. They had their honeymoon in Mamtucket and Vermont.
His net worth is about 4 million dollars. He once said that he does not take any vacations because his wife does not like to fly. They have two kids, and she never leaves the house; thus, he does not need to vacation. They met each other on July 4, and he stated that he had never felt more comfortable and happy with any woman before. A friend of Adam knew her and set them up on a blind date. His friend told her that he had a few bumps in the relationship path. He presented her a half a carat ring and asked her to marry him. She and her son moved in with him, and they got married in New York.
Though it is said that he has had bad relationships as a bachelor, there are no details about the girls he dated and about the reasons for those relationships to end. He was not married before, and there is no news of him being engaged to anyone before his marriage with Sharri.
He has a moderate level of privacy when it comes to his personal life. He delegates what he thinks is appropriate for the public to know. He never liked to talk much about his private life, show or appear on TV, or air on the radio. Adam is very active in social media, and we could call him a "serial Twitter" since he tweets a lot for work and expresses his opinions on different matters. He also tweeted about Sharri's late husband on the 9/11 anniversary. Beyond that, he never talked about his previous relationship, his current relationship, and problems with his partner and kids. He calls his stepson Devon, 'son' and he says that he has two sons. This indicates the closeness he has with Sharri and her, "their" young man.
With this moderate to a high level of privacy from his private life, he has no rumors or controversial stories built around him. Sharri and his kids are inert to the media, and they have never shared much about the family. With the available information, it can be considered that their marital life is going smoothly. There have been no rumors of affairs or other problems, which would lead to a separation. In all his comments about his family life, he mentions that he felt comfortable with his partner and had never been in such a relationship before.
Adam has an active and successful career without any problems if we exclude the lawsuit from Jason Pierre-Paul for disclosing a medical photo showing that Jason Pierre-Paul himself had had his right finger amputated (picture he wasn't authorized to have, nor to share). In the end, Schefter and ESPN settled the lawsuit in February 2017.
