Alex Ferguson was born on 31 December 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland. His father, Alexander Beaton Ferguson, worked in the shipbuilding industry, and his mother was named Elizabeth Ferguson. He grew up alongside his younger brother, Martin. Alex began his education at Broomloan Road Primary School and later attended Govan High School.
