<p>Alexis Bliss is an American professional <a href="/biography/alexis-bliss">wrestler</a> whose real name is <a href="/biography/alexis-bliss">Alexis Kaufman</a> but she goes by her ring name "Alexis Bliss". Bliss was born on August 9, 1991, in Columbus, Ohio and has been involved in sports since she was just five-years-old. Growing up, Bliss competed in softball, track, kickboxing, cheerleading, and gymnastics but she also had a love for all things Disney. Her family has frequently visited Walt Disney World since she was three-years-old. She is also a competitive <a href="/biography/alexis-bliss">bodybuilder</a> who competed in the Arnold Classic. Bliss credits bodybuilding with saving her from a life-threatening eating disorder at the age of 15. She attended Hilliard Davidson High School before graduating and going to college at the University of Akron where she achieved Division 1 status in wrestling. In May of 2013, Bliss was signed by WWE and assigned the ring named "<a href="/biography/alexis-bliss">Alexa Bliss</a>".</p>

<p>She suffered an injury that prompted a brief hiatus but she returned on March 11, 2015, in an episode of NXT where she defeated her <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmella_(wrestler)">opponent</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmella_(wrestler)">Carmella</a>. Bliss is engaged to a fellow WWE Superstar named <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddy_Murphy">Buddy Murphy</a>. In 2018, Bliss suffered several injuries and has not fought in the ring since she was defeated by former UFC <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronda_Rousey">world champion</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronda_Rousey">Ronda Rousey</a> on September 16, 2018.</p>
