In a US Weekly article titled, <em>25 Things You Should Know about Lee</em>, one of the things listed is her collection of childhood items. In the article, Amy told an interesting story from her childhood. When she was a <a href="/biography/amy-lee">kid</a>, she loved to ride the escalator a lot, and one time she got lost in a shopping mall. She was scared but she was also curious to explore the world on her own. She was eventually found by her parents but she wanted to point out that she wasn’t as scared as she thought she would be. Even though she started to worry about where her parents were, she found a weird satisfaction in being an independent little girl.</p>
