Andrea Kristen Savage is a graduate of Cornell University, where she earned a degree in Government with a minor in Law Studies. While attending college, she was an active member of the Groundlings Theatre Company. After college, she became involved in the Los Angeles comedy scene, performing at notable venues such as The Comedy Store, The Improv, and The Ice House. She also appeared at Radio City Music Hall alongside Adam McKay, who is also known by the nickname "Ghost Panther."
Andrea Savage began appearing in films in the mid-1990s. One of her earliest roles was in the 1995 short film Song of the Sea, in which she played Gertie Fitzpatrick. Her role in the 2008 poker comedy The Grand as Renee Jensen marked another significant step in her film career. That same year, she played Denise in the popular comedy Step Brothers. In 2009, she appeared as Dr. Gleason in I Love You, Beth Cooper and also acted in a short video titled Lashisse.

Andrea Savage has also made a strong mark in television. In 2011, she guest-starred on an episode of Modern Family as Holly and also voiced a nurse on the animated show The Life & Times of Tim. She returned to The Life & Times of Tim in 2012, appearing in three episodes as Julie.
That same year, she landed roles on multiple television programs, playing Gail in the unaired pilot American Judy, Brenda in House of Lies, and Amanda in the sitcom pilot Rebounding. From 2012 to 2014, she appeared in two episodes of the sitcom The League as Gail. Notably, she portrayed Dr. Valerie Vesser in the satirical series Newsreaders in 2012, a role that increased her visibility.
In 2014, Savage took part in several comedic projects, including playing Julie Francois in the sketch comedy Kroll Show and a teacher in an episode of American Dad! Sex Ed. She starred as Veronica Von Vandervon in the parody series The Hotwives of Orlando. In 2015, she appeared in episodes of Childrens Hospital playing Helen Basch, and on both Comedy Bang! Bang! and The Hotwives of Las Vegas.
Andrea’s television appearances continued into 2016, when she was cast as Vivian Stoll in the series iZombie and as Senator Laura Montez on the HBO political comedy Veep, a recurring role that further highlighted her versatility and comedic range.
