Claire Forlani was born on December 17, 1971, in the United Kingdom. Raised in London, she began studying acting and dance at the Arts Educational School at the age of 11. Her early training led to stage performances in productions such as The Nutcracker and Orpheus in the Underworld.
Her mother, Barbara Dickinson, was English and devoted to her family. Her father, Luigi Forlani, of Italian descent, worked in the entertainment industry as a music manager. When Claire was 19, the Forlani family relocated to the United States, settling in San Francisco. This move marked the beginning of Claire’s transition into film acting.
Claire Forlani has established herself as a respected actress in Hollywood, known for her ability to portray American characters despite her British background. In 1996, she portrayed Gina Cardinale in Basquiat, and in 1996’s action-thriller The Rock, she played Jade Angelou, the daughter of Sean Connery’s character.
Additional prominent film credits include Mallrats (1995), Mystery Men (1999), Boys and Girls (2000), Antitrust (2001), Green Street Hooligans (2005), The Medallion (2003), and Flashbacks of a Fool (2008). In many of these projects, she held leading or key supporting roles.
Claire Forlani has also played significant roles in several television series. She appeared as Dr. Peyton Driscoll in CSI: NY, and portrayed the character Lauren Hunter on NCIS: Los Angeles. In the Starz historical-fantasy drama Camelot, Forlani played Queen Igraine, mother of King Arthur.
Claire Forlani married Scottish actor Dougray Scott on June 8, 2007, in Italy. Through this marriage, she became stepmother to Scott’s twins, Eden and Gabriel Trevis Scott, born in 1998 during his previous marriage to casting director Sarah Trevis.
After several years of marriage, Claire and Dougray welcomed their first child together. Their son, Milo Thomas Scott, was born on December 27, 2014.
