Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, Conan Christopher O'Brien comes from an Irish Catholic family. He graduated from Harvard University, where he served as president of the humor magazine Harvard Lampoon. During his college years, he also began his career in television writing, contributing to the sketch comedy series Not Necessarily the News.
Conan O'Brien rose to prominence as the host of NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien, a position he held from 1993 to 2009. He briefly hosted The Tonight Show before moving to TBS, where he launched the eponymous late-night talk show Conan, which aired from 2010 to 2021.

He produced several episodes of The Simpsons between 1991 and 1993 during his tenure as a writer. In 2007, he produced six episodes of the comedy series Andy Barker, P.I., which he co-created. Since 2011, he has served as executive producer for the series Eagleheart.
O'Brien has also produced several other shows, including Deon Cole's Black Box (6 episodes), Super Fun Night (17 episodes), The Pete Holmes Show (80 episodes), and The Jack and Triumph Show.
