Needham also portrayed two different characters on the show "Fame" with her first appearance being in the episode "To Soar and Never Falter" in 1982. In the episode, Needham plays a dancer in the initial stages of multiple sclerosis.</p>

<p>Her work in the episode helped the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Harris_(director)">director</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Harris_(director)">Harry Harris</a> win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series.
