Lewis was born on October 10, 1990, in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents, originally from Saint Kitts, had moved to New York prior to her birth. From a young age, Lewis showed a strong inclination toward dancing, leading her parents to enroll her at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
While performing with the Restoration Dance Theater, her childhood dance company, she was discovered by a modeling scout. However, prioritizing her education, she waited until her sophomore year of high school before signing a contract with Elite Model Management.
Lewis launched her modeling career with immediate success. She appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated for three consecutive years—2009, 2010, and 2011. Her portfolio also includes campaigns with major brands such as Black|Up, Tsumori Chisato, Clarins, Yves Saint Laurent, and Victoria’s Secret PINK.
Her work has graced the covers of prominent publications including French Marie Claire, Essence, Gala, Trace Magazine, Pride Magazine (London), Uptown, and Vibe. Her distinct physique—standing at 5 feet 10 inches with a relatively short torso—sets her apart in the modeling industry.
Lewis is currently represented by Ford Models, Angels & Demons in France, and Innovative Artists.
In 2011, Lewis made a brief but attention-grabbing appearance in the film Limitless. Though her screen time was short, she caught the notice of both viewers and industry professionals.
That same year, she gained broader exposure through a feature-style interview with Nick Jonas for Modelinia. Her presence on screen continued when she hosted a television presentation titled Prince! Behind the Symbol for The Africa Channel.
In May 2012, Lewis appeared in the music video for Kanye West's hit song "Monster." The song, which was already a chart-topper, brought her international attention. The video showcased her dance skills, honed since childhood.
Later that year, Lewis was selected by Prince to be his muse and featured dancer for his Welcome 2 Australia Tour. She continued to perform with Prince and The New Power Generation on their 2012 Chicago tour, and later joined him for what would become his final tour, SXSW in Texas. Additionally, she made a guest appearance with the band on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
At the time of her biography, Lewis is 25 years old and focused on advancing her multifaceted career. There is no confirmed news regarding her marital status, husband, or a divorce. She was romantically linked to Prince prior to his passing. While some sources claim she is dating actor Chad Faust, this has not been confirmed by her and remains speculative.
Combining her passion for fashion and sports, Lewis created a blog titled Heels to Hoops. The blog links the physicality and culture of basketball to the fashion world, featuring behind-the-scenes content, interviews with NBA players, and game-related follow-ups.
Although her net worth has not been officially disclosed, it is generally estimated to be in the millions. Despite a demanding schedule as a model and blogger, she remains committed to community service. Lewis actively volunteers with Project Sunshine and hosts annual dance camps every October. These camps aim to instill young girls with personal pride, inner strength, and dance skills.
