Lewis was born on October 10, 1990, in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents, originally from Saint Kitts, had moved to New York prior to her birth. From a young age, Lewis showed a strong inclination toward dancing, leading her parents to enroll her at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
While performing with the Restoration Dance Theater, her childhood dance company, she was discovered by a modeling scout. However, prioritizing her education, she waited until her sophomore year of high school before signing a contract with Elite Model Management.
Lewis launched her modeling career with immediate success. She appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated for three consecutive years—2009, 2010, and 2011. Her portfolio also includes campaigns with major brands such as Black|Up, Tsumori Chisato, Clarins, Yves Saint Laurent, and Victoria’s Secret PINK.
