His parents are of Dominican descent. He grew up in Notting Hill and attended Rutherford Comprehensive School, where he developed a passion for gymnastics, continuing until his graduation in 1977. He also has a brother who works as a barrister.</p>

<h2>Career Beginnings in Dance and Theatre</h2>

<p>John-Jules began his entertainment career as a dancer with the group Second Generation. He performed in numerous productions across London's West End and appeared in the music video for Wham!’s 1986 hit “The Edge of Heaven.” His background in dance and performance helped establish a strong foundation for his later success as an actor.</p>

<h2>Breakthrough Role in Red Dwarf</h2>
