Danny John-Jules is an English actor, singer, and dancer who was born on September 16, 1960, in Paddington, London, in the United Kingdom. His parents are of Dominica descent and he has a brother who is a barrister. John-Jules grew up in Notting Hill where he attended Rutherford Comprehensive School. John-Jules learned gymnastics while attending Rutherford until his graduation in 1977. He started his career as a dancer in a group called Second Generation and appeared in several productions in West End theatres. John-Jules also danced in the Wham! music video for the song "The Edge Of Heaven". He began his career as an actor in Roy Minton's "Scum" where he played an unnamed inmate. He landed his first major role in the science fiction comedy series "Red Dwarf" where he played the role of Cat since 1988.
John-Jules went on to star in the CBBC children's spy series "M.I. High" and as Barrington in the children's series "Maid Marian and Her Merry Men". He recently competed in the 16th season of "Strictly Come Dancing" with professional dancer Amy Dowden as his partner. John-Jules married Petula Langlais and had two daughters named Dante and Danae Langlais-John-Jules. Both of his daughters have appeared in minor acting roles alongside their father.
