<p>Erica Hill is known as an American journalist and news anchor. She is most famous for her work on NBC news and hosting the weekend edition of a popular show called Today.</p>

<p><a href="/biography/erica-hill">Erica Ruth Hill</a> was born on July 20, 1976, in the state of Connecticut. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of journalism. She achieved her education milestone at Boston University in 1998. She is a <a href="/biography/erica-hill">member</a> of the sorority Alpha Epsilon Phi. She is American but also speaks French fluently. She is the <a href="/biography/erica-hill">daughter</a> of Cheryl Hill, an American correspondent.</p>

<p>Erica Hill started her career as a journalist at PC Week Radio for an online program. The program was produced by the popular PC Week magazine. She also worked as a conference coordinator for the software publishers that were associated with emerging tech companies. She worked in TechTV starting 2000 but her stint there ended in 2003. She went from the TechTV news program to TechLive. She started out as a reporter but after some time she became the co-anchor as well as the correspondent for her program. She reported on the terrorist attack of 2001 live while she was still working with TechTV.</p>

<p>She joined Headlines News at the CNN channel in 2003 when she was working as the general news anchor for many programs. In 2004, she started to work at CNN Newsource as a national correspondent. <p>A big reason that she decided to come back to HLN was she was offered a chance to host her own show called “On the Story with Erica Hill,” HLN wanted to use the show to lead their new style and look. She was not worried about having a new boss, “I’ve heard wonderful things about him, both from my colleagues here and when I was at NBC. In my first meeting with Jeff, I got a really good feeling from him. He came across as someone I would love to work for, it’s different now that Jeff is in charge but the overall values of HLN remain the same. Present the facts to people and also bring them compelling stories they can either relate to or emphasis with in some way.”</p>

<p>Her old boss, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Jautz">Ken Jautz</a> also had some advice for her, “Ken said to me, ‘It’s really important, Erica, that you make sure you have a life outside of work. On the stress level for my entire family, not just me personally, I think it’s been better for my marriage. My husband and I actually see each other! It’s been better for my kids. They need their mom and dad around.”</p>

<p>Erica is now enjoying the more time she gets to spend with her family by moving to HLN. It was a luxury that she was not able to enjoy while working at CNN. “Walking back in the building, there is something nice when you know where everything is. I know where the cafeteria is. I have friends in the makeup room. I know the producers. I know the staff on the floor. There is something to be said for that.”</p>

<p>She will always remember her time at CNN, “CNN is always going to have a really special place in my heart. That hasn’t changed.”</p>

<h2>Marriage, Husband, and Kids</h2>

<p>Erica Hill got married in 2005 to her husband, David Yount. They have two sons together. The first son was born in 2006 while the second son was born in 2010.</p>
