Gena Rowlands gained prominence through her collaborations with her husband, actor-director John Cassavetes. Together, they created ten films, including critically acclaimed works such as A Woman Under the Influence (1974) and Gloria (1980). Both roles earned Rowlands Academy Award nominations for Best Actress and are considered landmark performances in American independent cinema.
