Indio Falconer Downey is an American actor and musician, best known as the son of acclaimed actor Robert Downey Jr. and singer-songwriter Deborah Falconer. He was born on September 7, 1993, in Los Angeles, California. Indio grew up in a family immersed in the entertainment industry, which shaped his interests in both acting and music from a young age.
His parents separated when he was eight years old. Although his mother, Deborah Falconer, retained custody, Indio maintained a close relationship with his father and often accompanied him to public events.
Indio Falconer Downey made his acting debut in the 2005 film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a movie that starred his father, Robert Downey Jr. He later appeared in the independent films Jackie and Play of Consciousness; however, acting did not remain his primary focus. After these roles, Indio began to pursue a career in music more seriously.
Indio's passion for music led him to join his first band, a Los Angeles-based group called The Seems. After gaining experience and further developing his style, he co-founded another band named The Dose with fellow musician Ralph Alexander. The Dose gained recognition for its blend of alternative rock and grunge influences, with Indio serving as the guitarist and vocalist.
Like his father, Indio has faced personal struggles with substance abuse. In June 2014, he was arrested in North Hollywood for possession of a controlled substance. Following the incident, Indio entered a rehabilitation program to address his drug addiction. With the support of his family and commitment to recovery, he returned to his musical pursuits and continued his creative endeavors.
