Ji Chang Wook is a South Korean actor who was born on July 5, 1987, in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Chang Wook got an early start to his career in 2006 when he made his debut in the film "Days". He went on to take a minor role in a television series called "You Stole My Heart" in 2008. His official debut came in the 2008 film "Sleeping Beauty" and was quickly followed by a role in South Korean television drama "My Too Perfect Sons" in 2009. Chang Wook landed the biggest role of his career in 2010 when he was cast as the star of a 159-episode television drama called "Smile Again" where he played a Korean-American speed skater.
The role required intensive physical training at an ice rink which consumed 4 to 5 hours of his time every day. His next role would be in the 2011 historical film "Warrior Baek Dong-soo" about the Joseon-era swordsman Baek Dong-soo. Following several years as a successful actor, Chang Wook began his mandatory military service in August of 2017. He attended basic training at the South Korean Army's 3rd Infantry Division at Gangwon Province where he earned a prize for his high performance. Chang Wook was eventually promoted to Corporal and is set to be discharged on April 28, 2019.
