Joseph Anthony Fatone Jr., known professionally as Joey Fatone, was born on January 28, 1977, in Brooklyn, New York. He comes from a family of Italian-American heritage. His father, Joseph Fatone Sr., is both a musician and an actor, while his mother, Phyllis, was a homemaker.
Fatone spent his early years in the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn. He is the youngest of three children, with an older brother named Steven and a sister named Janine. At the age of 13, his family relocated to Orlando, Florida. He attended Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, where he first began performing, often singing Valentine’s Day serenades to raise funds for the school’s glee club. During this time, he adopted the stage name P.J.
After graduating from high school, Fatone began working as a performer at Universal Studios in Orlando. It was there that he met Chris Kirkpatrick, who was forming a boy band. In 1995, Fatone joined Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, and Justin Timberlake to form *NSYNC. They initially recruited Jason Galasso as their bass singer, but he was later replaced by Lance Bass.
*NSYNC achieved tremendous success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group released several multi-platinum albums, including *NSYNC (1998), No Strings Attached (2000), and Celebrity (2001). These albums, coupled with extensive tours, solidified their status as a leading pop act. The band performed at prominent events such as the Super Bowl, the World Series, and the Olympic Games. Although *NSYNC ceased releasing new albums after 2002, they occasionally reunited for special performances at award shows and public events.
Following his music career, Fatone pursued acting and television hosting. In 2001, he appeared in the romantic comedy On the Line alongside Lance Bass. He also guest-starred with his *NSYNC bandmates on an episode of The Simpsons.
Fatone went on to act in several films, including a notable role in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and its sequel, as well as an appearance in The Cooler. He further expanded his TV presence by hosting the karaoke-themed game show The Singing Bee on NBC, later reprising the role for its Australian adaptation.
In addition, he made a guest appearance on Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana and served as a ringmaster on the reality series Celebrity Circus. In 2007, Fatone competed in season four of Dancing with the Stars, finishing in second place alongside professional dance partner Kym Johnson.
Joey Fatone married his longtime girlfriend, Kelly Baldwin, in 2004. The ceremony took place in Long Island, New York. The couple had been together for 10 years prior to tying the knot and are now parents to two daughters, Brianna and Kloey. Lance Bass, Fatone’s *NSYNC bandmate, is godfather to his children.
Fatone's successful career in music, television, and film has earned him an estimated net worth of $14 million. He is active on social media and regularly updates his fans via his Twitter account, @realjoeyfatone. Additional details about his life and career can be found on his Wikipedia page.
