Preacher is based on an American comic book created by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garth_Ennis">Garth Ennis</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Dillon">Steve Dillon</a>. It chronicles the life of a hard drinking, chain smoking preacher enduring a crisis of faith. Julie Ann Emery was born January 16, 1975, in Crossville, Tennessee; her father was a dairy farmer and her mother was a computer analyst. Julie graduated from Cumberland County High School before going on to study acting at the Webster Conservatory at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Julie’s acting career began on the stage when she appeared, at the age of sixteen, in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Bye Bye Birdie.</p>

<p>Julie’s film credits include Hitch (2005), The Rainbow Tribe (2008), Movie 43 (2013), and Gifted (2017). She has appeared on television in many popular shows including Better Call Saul, The Following, Masters of Sex, Major Crimes, NCIS: New Orleans, Damages, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The  Riches, Army Wives, and Suits.
