Julie Ann Emery is an American actress who is currently portraying the role of Lara Featherstone in the television series Preacher. Preacher is based on an American comic book created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. It chronicles the life of a hard drinking, chain smoking preacher enduring a crisis of faith. Julie Ann Emery was born January 16, 1975, in Crossville, Tennessee; her father was a dairy farmer and her mother was a computer analyst. Julie graduated from Cumberland County High School before going on to study acting at the Webster Conservatory at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Julie’s acting career began on the stage when she appeared, at the age of sixteen, in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Bye Bye Birdie.
