Keegan-Michael Key is known as an American actor, comedian, and writer. He is most famous for his sketch comedy show, Key & Peele.
Keegan-Michael Key was born on March 22, 1971 in Southfield, Michigan. In spite of the fact that he was born in Southfield, he later experienced childhood in the tough city of Detroit. He was born to Carrie Herr, a Caucasian lady and Leroy McDuffie, an African-American man. He was then set up for adoption and was welcomed by another interracial couple. His new parents, Patricia Walsh and Michael Key were social workers from Detroit, Michigan.
He proceeded to go to the University of Detroit Mercy where he graduated from in 1993, procuring a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater. He pursued Theater further and procured a Master of Fine Arts degree in the course from Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated from in 1996.
Keegan-Michael Key authoritatively kicked his career off in 1999 yet didn't gain any considerable fame until 2004 when he joined the sketch satire show Mad TV as a cast member. After his Mad TV's run, he and fellow Mad TV cast member, Jordan Peele, made, produced and featured in their very own sketch comedy show Key and Peele on Comedy Central, which was highly successful for the network. He later proceeded to arrive a role in Playing House, a comedy show on USA Network.
One of his famous roles as an actor is in the Netflix TV show, Friends From College, where he plays one of the lead characters. A portion of his different credits include Keanu, Let's Be Cops, Fargo, Parks And Recreation, Pitch Perfect 2 and Tomorrowland. Keegan-Michael Key branched out and made his Broadway debut in the play Meteor Shower, in 2017. The widely praised play was directed by Hollywood veteran, Steve Martin.
In July 2019, the live action version of Disney's Lion King was released. Key plays the voice of one of the evil hyenas, Kamari in the film who are trying to get rid of the king, Simba.
Keegan-Michael Key is married to Elisa Pugliese, an actress, producer, and director. The two lovebirds got married on June 8, 2018 in New York City.
Before his wedding to Elisa, Keegan was once married to Cynthia Blaise, an American actress, and speech mentor. Their marriage kept going from 1998 to until 2017, when they chose to go their different ways. In spite of being married for over 10 years, Keegan and Cynthia had no children together.
