Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle is a prominent media personality known for her work on the Fox News Channel. She has served as a co-host on major Fox programs including The Five and Outnumbered, and previously hosted the weekend show The Lineup. In addition to her broadcasting career, she is a former prosecutor and legal analyst who has worked for both Court TV and national broadcast outlets including ABC.
Kimberly Guilfoyle was born on March 9, 1969, in San Francisco, California, to an Irish father and a Puerto Rican mother. She graduated from Mercy High School in San Francisco. Her mother, Mercedes, passed away from leukemia when Kimberly was just eleven years old. Following her mother’s death, Kimberly and her brother were raised by their father, Anthony “Tony” Guilfoyle, an immigrant from Ireland who later became a real estate investor and political advisor to then-Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Guilfoyle earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis. She later obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law. While in law school, she interned at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. She also studied at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, where she conducted research and published work on international children’s rights.
After completing her law degree, Guilfoyle began her legal career as a prosecutor in San Francisco. In 1996, after the newly elected District Attorney Terence Hallinan dismissed several prosecutors, including Guilfoyle, she accepted a position as Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles. There, she served for over four years, specializing in cases involving domestic violence, sexual assault, narcotics, and homicide. Her performance was recognized with several awards, including “Prosecutor of the Month.”
In 2000, she returned to San Francisco when Hallinan rehired her as an Assistant District Attorney. Guilfoyle remained in this role until 2004, when she transitioned into a television career in New York City. She became the host of the legal analysis program Both Sides on Court TV and worked as a legal analyst for various media outlets.
In 2006, Guilfoyle joined Fox News Channel as a host of The Lineup. Although the show was later canceled, she continued to contribute regularly to the network. Her reporting and legal commentary earned her a steady presence on Fox, eventually leading to co-hosting roles on the high-profile programs The Five and Outnumbered.
In addition to broadcasting, she became a member of the La Raza Lawyers Association in 2008. Known for her advocacy work, she also became recognized as a firm political commentator and media figure.
In 2015, Guilfoyle published her autobiography titled Making the Case: How to Be Your Own Best Advocate, offering advice and personal insights on professional and personal development. During the 2016 U.S. presidential election, she emerged as a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, frequently defending his policies and public remarks in the media.
In 2001, Guilfoyle married Gavin Newsom, who at the time was a San Francisco City Supervisor. Newsom was elected Mayor of San Francisco in 2003. The couple filed for divorce in 2005, citing challenges posed by bi-coastal careers. Their divorce was finalized on February 28, 2006.
Later that year, on May 27, 2006, she married Eric Villency, CEO of the Villency Design Group. The couple had one son, Ronan Anthony, born in October 2006. Guilfoyle and Villency announced their separation in 2009 and subsequently divorced.
As of 2016, Kimberly Guilfoyle’s estimated net worth was approximately $5 million. Her annual salary at the time was reported to be around $840,500. Her high-profile roles in media, combined with her background in law and politics, have contributed to her financial standing and public recognition.
