Matt Spaeth an American football tight end was born on November 24, 1983, in St. Michael, Minnesota. He was selected by the PS (Pittsburgh Steelers) of the NFL (National Football League). He was the 2007 NFL Draft pick; he was drafted by the PF in the 3rd round. Spaeth also played for the CB (Chicago Bears). He was a college football player at Minnesota.
Matt Spaeth won John Mackey Award in 2006 as a best tight end of the college football. He did his graduation at St. Michael-Albertville, in Minnesota, he graduated in 2002. When he was in St. M-A, he played basketball as well as football. In 2002, St Michael was in the WCC (Wright County Conference) during that period Spaeth achieved few records and set several records at St. Michael-Albertville in basketball and football. He was 3-year basketball starter who set records for 8 steals in a game, 23 rebounds, 1359 points in a career and 804 career rebounds.

At Minnesota, Matt Spaeth played college football. In 2003 season, Matt started as a reserve, but he got more interested as a starting lineup when Ben Utecht got injured. Matt Spaeth got an invitation for NFL Scouting Combine. He ran a 40yard in 4.83 dash time. In 2007 League Draft, Spaeth was drafted by PS in the 3rd round. He started the first season on special teams and on the goal line package. The first catch of Spaeth was a touchdown; the team played against Cleveland Browns and won the game with 5yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger.
On September 9, 2007, Spaeth became the second-string as the second-string tight end of Stellar’s Jerame Tuman was injured. Bears released Spaeth on March 13, 2013, he was the last Bear who wore the 89 number, and he retired as a tight end on December 8, 2013, after winning the most prestigious Super Bowl XX.
