Megan Kelly was born on 18th of November in the year 1970 to parents Linda and Edward Kelly. She was born and brought up in Syracuse, New York in a Roman Catholic environment. Her mother was a full time housewife and her father was a teacher at the prestigious State University of new York, Albany. She did her primary schooling from the Tecumseh Elementary School, DeWitt in New York. With her father’s job in Albany the family migrated there in the year 1970 and she was admitted to the Bethlehem Central High School. At the young age of 15 she lost her father. She did not let her grief overshadow her future and she went on to do attain a degree from the Syracuse University in the subject of political science. Further in the year 1995, she graduated as the doctor of law from the Albany Law School.
Kelly started her career as a lawyer from Bickel & Brewer LLP where she was an associate. During her college days she had also developed keen interest in writing and later for the American Bar Association she assisted in writing a litigation named ‘The Conflicting roles of Lawyer as Director.’ Next she worked for Jones Day for a massive period of nine years.
The field of Journalism happened to her in the year 2003 when she moved to Washington D.C. She took up the role of general assignment reporter at the WJLA-TV which was an affiliate of the ABC News. Her coverage work ranged from events of national as well as local importance and also majority of news from the field of Law and Justice. In a duration of one year with WJLA she did commendable reporting to add starts to her resume. The next year she was recruited by the Fox News Channel and she handled the legal shows and segment for the channel. These include a portion of Special Report with Brit Hume and her show Kelly’s Court. A lot of other shows related to politics and law on the channel favoured Kelly for being on them.
A few remarks made by Kelly during the Christmas time in year 2013 dragged her into a hot controversy but it settled down soon. As a moderator during the 2015 Republican Party Presidential debate Kelly was again in limelight for her question over the kind of temperament of Trump had and she didn’t find him suitable for being the President. Her proud moment was when she made her place in the 100 most influential people generated by Time in the year 2014. She also had a chance to get on the cover page of Vanity Fair.
Kelly had married twice till date. Her first marriage was with Daniel Kendall in 2001 and divorce in 2006. Her second marriage was with Douglas Brunt who was then the CEO of Authentium. However, her husband gave up his job to build his career as a writer. Megan is supposed draw a handsome salary and her future endeavour include writing a novel for HarperCollins Publication which is slated to release till the end of 2016. Her net worth from all sources is estimated to be about 15 million USD.
