<p>Mike Judge, born <a href="/biography/mike-judge">Michael Craig Judge</a> on October 17, 1962, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, is an accomplished American animator, writer, director, producer, actor, and voice actor. He was born to American parents—his father was an archaeologist working for a nonprofit organization in South America, and his mother was a librarian. Judge grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he attended St. Pius X High School.</p>

<p>He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of California, San Diego. Following graduation, Judge worked for a short time at a startup in Silicon Valley but found the work unfulfilling. He left after three months and spent two years touring with a blues band as a bass guitarist.</p>

<h2>Breakthrough with <a href="/biography/mike-judge">Beavis and Butt-Head</a></h2>

<p>In 1992, Mike Judge created <em>Frog Baseball</em>, a short animated film that introduced the characters Beavis and Butt-Head. This led to the creation of <em><a href="/biography/mike-judge">Beavis and Butt-Head</a></em>, an adult animated sitcom that premiered on MTV in 1993. The show became a cultural phenomenon with its satirical take on adolescence and American pop culture. Running for seven seasons until 1997, it featured the misadventures of its two socially inept, heavy metal-loving teenage protagonists.</p>

<h2>Success with King of the Hill</h2>
