Mike Judge, born Michael Craig Judge on October 17, 1962, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, is an accomplished American animator, writer, director, producer, actor, and voice actor. He was born to American parents—his father was an archaeologist working for a nonprofit organization in South America, and his mother was a librarian. Judge grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he attended St. Pius X High School.
He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of California, San Diego. Following graduation, Judge worked for a short time at a startup in Silicon Valley but found the work unfulfilling. He left after three months and spent two years touring with a blues band as a bass guitarist.
In 1992, Mike Judge created Frog Baseball, a short animated film that introduced the characters Beavis and Butt-Head. This led to the creation of Beavis and Butt-Head, an adult animated sitcom that premiered on MTV in 1993. The show became a cultural phenomenon with its satirical take on adolescence and American pop culture. Running for seven seasons until 1997, it featured the misadventures of its two socially inept, heavy metal-loving teenage protagonists.
Following the success of Beavis and Butt-Head, Judge co-created King of the Hill with Greg Daniels. The animated series debuted on the Fox network in 1997 and focused on the Hill family—a middle-class Methodist household living in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas. The show offered a more grounded and socially observational form of humor compared to Judge's earlier work.
King of the Hill was critically acclaimed and commercially successful, becoming one of the Fox network’s highest-rated programs. It ran for 13 seasons, concluding in 2009, and has since gained a loyal following and frequent syndication.
As of public records, Mike Judge was previously married but is currently not known to be in a public relationship. He tends to keep his personal life private and largely out of the public spotlight.
