<p>Noel Mazzone is an American former <a href="/biography/noel-mazzone">football player</a> and current coach who serves as the offensive coordinator for The University of Arizona. Noel Mazzone was born on March 21, 1957, and grew up in Raton, New Mexico. Mazzone attended the University of New Mexico, where he played quarterback for four years. Upon graduation, Mazzone became a graduate assistant at the University of New Mexico under <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Morrison">head coach</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Morrison">Joe Morrison</a>. Mazzone’s first full-time position was a Colorado State University where he worked for five years as quarterbacks and receivers coach. Mazzone was hired by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Wacker">Jim Wacker</a> to be quarterbacks coach at Texas Christian University and later followed <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Wacker">Wacker</a> to the University of Minnesota where he performed the same duties for the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_Golden_Gophers">Gophers</a>.</p>

<p>Mazzone worked a Ole Miss from 1995 to 1999, Auburn from 1999- 2001, Oregon State in 2002, and North Carolina State from 2003 to 2004. Mazzone took a position in the National Football League as wide receivers coach for the New York Jets in 2006. After his contract with the Jets expired in 2008, Mazzone decided to assume the duties as offensive coordinator for Panther Creek High School in Cary, North Carolina. Two years later, Mazzone was hired as offensive coordinator for Arizona State University. In January of 2015, Mazzone began working at The University of Arizona.</p>
