Patrick Johannes Adams was born on August 27, 1981, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His father, Claude Adams, is a journalist. Adams attended Northern Secondary School before moving to California at the age of 19 to pursue higher education. He enrolled at the University of Southern California, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
In 2004, Adams received the Jack Nicholson Award, which recognizes outstanding actors at the USC School of Dramatic Arts. Following this recognition, he produced a staging of Edward Albee’s play, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?
