Patrick Johannes Adams was born on August 27, 1981, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His father, Claude Adams, is a journalist. Adams attended Northern Secondary School before moving to California at the age of 19 to pursue higher education. He enrolled at the University of Southern California, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
In 2004, Adams received the Jack Nicholson Award, which recognizes outstanding actors at the USC School of Dramatic Arts. Following this recognition, he produced a staging of Edward Albee’s play, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?
Adams made his screen debut in the 2001 short film For the Record, playing a character named Patrick. In 2003, he appeared in the comedy film Old School as Patch. He continued his film work with the 2005 romantic television movie Christmas in Boston, where he played the role of Seth.
In 2007, Adams had a guest role on the popular television series Lost. The following year, he starred in the short film The Butcher’s Daughter as Ellis McArthur and in the crime thriller 3 Days Gone as Doug Corssin.
His work in 2009 included appearances in the romantic comedy Weather Girl as Byron and the thriller Rage as Dwight Angel. He continued building his film résumé with a role in 6 Month Rule (2011), and in the short film The Come Up (2012). More recently, he played Mark Chamberlain in the film Car Dogs.
