Rocco DiSpirito is known as an American celebrity chef, author, and television personality. He is most famous for working in New York restaurants and his cookbooks. Rocco DiSpirito was born on November 19, 1966, in Jamaica, Queens, New York. His mother is Nicolina DiSpirito, and his father is Ralph DiSpirito. As a child, he had a strong interest in cooking, and his mother became instrumental in his development as he learned many traditional Italian recipes from her. In 1986, Rocco DiSpirito graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, which further piqued his interest in cooking as a career. He completed his education in 1990 by graduating with a bachelor's degree in business from Boston University.
Before marrying his college sweetheart, Natalie David, Rocco had been dating Katie Brown and Deborah Schoeneman. However, things did not work out with either of them, so he settled down with Natalie David. Soon after, their marriage hit heavy rocks, leading to their divorce in 2000. It was reported that the marriage had broken down due to the distance that had grown between the husband and wife. After their divorce, Rocco quickly re-entered the dating game.
At some point in his life, Rocco was overweight and had to undergo a weight loss program. He achieved this by doing regular exercise and watching his diet. Rocco was linked to the actress Yvonne Scio barely two years after his divorce, but this romance did not last long and the couple split up in March 2004. Rocco DiSpirito has become a popular cookbook author and celebrity chef. In 1997, he opened a restaurant in the Country Park area of Manhattan. He was known for his connection at the popular Union Pacific restaurant, where Ruth Reichl, a reviewer for the New York Times, wrote about how a woman was in an overwhelming ecstasy after eating one of Rocco's dishes. In 2004, Rocco left Union Pacific. He starred on a reality TV show called The Restaurant between 2003 and 2004.

When The Restaurant stopped airing, Jeffrey Chodorow, the financier, sued DiSpirito and banned him from going into the building, shutting down the restaurant. For the season three climax of the show, he made a return appearance, during which three celebrity chefs came to work with the contestants. He also had a guest appearance in the ABC sitcom The Knights of Prosperity. One of his products is Rocco's Organic Protein Powder Plus, an organic product that is 100 percent gluten-free, sugar-free, and plant-based, containing about 20g of proteins in 118 tiny calories.
He has demonstrated how this is used in his book titled The Negative Calorie Diet, with the product allowing people to make the delicious shake recipes contained in that book. His recipes are recognized globally, with a focus on individuals and families. Apart from cooking, he is a writer and has written many amazing cookbooks. His most recent cookbook, Rocco's Healthy & Delicious, was published in 2017. He has been praised many times for his Italian American Cuisine and his innovative style of cooking.
During his career, he has received various awards, including America's Newest Best Chef in 1999 and a Food and Wine Magazine award, as well as being called the Sexiest Chef Alive by People Magazine in 2002. DiSpirito competed against other celebrity chefs for a $40,000 first prize donated to their chosen charity on Guy Fieri's Guy's Grocery Games - Superstar Tournament Part 1 on August 20, 2017. DiSpirito advanced to the finals and defeated Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, the previous competition winner. DiSpirito is a regular judge on Guy's Grocery Games and also competes on the show on occasion. He is also featured on the Food Network's Tournament of Champions, hosted by his pal Guy Fieri, and may be seen on Guy's Ranch Kitchen on occasion.
