Ryan Seacrest is an American radio personality, show host, and producer who is most known for hosting the hit show American Idol. He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents, Constance and Gary Lee Seacrest, welcomed him into the world on December 24, 1974. As a child, his mother stated that he was always more interested in playing with a microphone and putting on shows, rather than your typical boy's toys. When Ryan attended high school, he won an internship at WSTR Fm with Tom Sullivan, and was taught about radio.
After getting his first opportunity to go on air when a DJ called in sick, he was given the weekend overnight shift. He remained at WSTR until he graduated high school and went to University of Georgia to study journalism, but he left at age 19 to move to Hollywood to pursue a broadcasting career.
After moving to Hollywood, Ryan held a number of different hosting positions on television shows, such as ESPN's Radical Outdoor Challenge, Gladiators 2000, Wild Animal Games, Click, Saturday Night Movie, and the reality show Ultimate Revenge. He also appeared as the host of a fictional game show on Beverly Hills 90210. His big break, however, came in 2002 when he accepted the job as co-host of American Idol. Soon after, he became the sole host and Ryan gained international fame and recognition. During this time, he also hosted American Juniors, a spin-off of American Idol. Ryan then became the highest paid reality television host after signing a deal for $45 million in 2009 to remain on American Idol; he signed a two year deal in 2012 for $30 million.
Aside from hosting American Idol, Ryan became the co-host and executive producer of Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve, although he did most of the hosting responsibilities because of Dick Clark's impairment due to a stroke. In 2009 they renamed the show, adding "With Ryan Seacrest" at the end. Ryan also served as a substitute host for Larry King Live. In addition to all of his hosting gigs,he also hosts Knock Knock Live, a show on Fox that brings regular people prizes for doing extraordinary things. On May 1, 2017, Ryan officially joined Kelly Ripa as the co-host of Live with Kelly and Ryan, previously Live with Kelly and Live with Kelly and Michael.

On top of the multitude of hosting jobs that Ryan has and does still hold, he also has a long past in producing and radio. Besides his roots at WSTR, he became the host of American Top 40 in 2004. A month later, he began hosting On Air With Ryan Seacrest. As for producing, Ryan has an impressive resume. Not only was he the host of the E! red carpet events and coverages, he is also the managing editor of E! News, worked for the Today Show, covered the Olympics and entertainment, and is also the producer of the mega hit show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, as well as all the spin-offs it generated, all under his production company, Ryan Seacrest Productions.
On top of his hosting, producing, owning his production company, and his radio work, he is also a philanthropist and owns the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a nonprofit organization. The foundation has centers in Atlanta, Orange County, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Children's National Medical Center, Cincinnati, Dallas, Boston, and Colorado. Unfortunately, despite all of his charitable giving and generosity, Ryan was accused of sexual harassment, but it is largely believed that these allegations are false.
Ryan Seacrest is an accomplished producer, radio host, television host, entrepreneur, businessman, and philanthropist. His success is rare and impressive - there are not many names known the way that Ryan Seacrest is. He has built an empire through his hard work and perseverance.
