Shannon Bream (born Shannon Noelle DePuy) is an American journalist and lawyer working for Fox News. She took over as the host of Fox News @ Night in 2017.
Shannon Noelle DePuy was born on December 23, 1970, in Florida. She is the daughter of Marie Norris, who is a teacher and a commissioner of Leon County. Her parents had children from previous marriages, but she remained close to her extended family.
She did her primary schooling at a Christian School in North Florida and graduated from Liberty University, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in business. She also did her Law honors program at Florida University. While she was in school, she used to help her mother in refurbishing houses. Her job was to scrape paint off from window panes. Most of her education was covered by the scholarships that she received.
While she was at Liberty University, she competed for Miss Virginia and won the title. She was also in the top ten finalists for Miss America. Even though she did not win the big prize of Miss America, she was happy that all her years of pageant competitions finally earned her a top 10 spot on the national stage. She wouldn’t give up on her ultimate dream of being the number one queen, though, in 1995. Shannon also won Miss Florida. She had moved to Florida and was excited to take part in the Miss Florida beauty pageant. She was beyond excited to win the contest.
That same year, she competed in the Miss USA Pageant and became the top four finalists. Once again, she did not win the top spot, but she was happy with her improvement. In the previous completion, she had placed 10th so moving six spots up to 4th place was a significant accomplishment.
Her parents once mentioned that the piano lessons she took when she was young finally paid off when she won her beauty pageants.
Shannon married her college love, Sheldon Bream. Shannon and Sheldon met for the first time at Florida State University. They couldn’t stop seeing each other after graduating from college because they had developed a strong bond. Their friends say they will never get divorced because of how much they love each other.
Sheldon is the brother of Sid Bream, an MLB Player. He is the director of the Washington Speakers Bureau. He survived a brain tumor which was hard for the couple to endure. Shannon mentioned that faith had a significant role in his recovery as they spent a year in intensive praying. Shannon wanted to stick by his side and be a loyal lover. She could have left him at any time, and people wouldn’t have been mad at her because of his condition. She decided that the right thing to do was stick by her man even if he had a significant issue.
When asked about her marital life, she mentioned that her husband was a saint and he was the type of husband that every woman would dream of having.
Shannon Bream is an anchor of America’s News Headquarters and Supreme Court reporter for Fox News. She also appears as the substitute anchor for Fox News Sunday, Special Report with Bret Baier, and other programs.
In 2000, she started an entry-level career at an ABC Tampa Affiliate, WFTS as a scriptwriter with an overnight shift. She mainly wrote scripts for the news program. In North Carolina, she also worked as an evening news reporter with WBTV, a CBS station. Her meeting with Brit Hume, the Managing Editor of Fox News, paved the way for her career with Fox News. In November 2007, Shannon officially joined the Fox News Channel.
She reported on the judgment of the Supreme Court on the Defense of Marriage Act. She covered the ruling on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and gave exclusive coverage on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.
