Tanya Rivero is an American news broadcaster known for her dynamic career across prominent news outlets. She was raised in New York City and attended the Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, where she pursued classical ballet training. Rivero danced professionally with the New York City Ballet before transitioning to journalism.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and later completed a graduate degree at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, laying the academic foundation for her future in broadcast journalism.
While still an undergraduate at Yale, Rivero began her journalism career as a desk assistant for ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. She also reported for several major programs, including Good Morning America, Nightline, World News with Diane Sawyer, and Weekend World News with David Muir.
She also served as host of Good Morning America Health, where she focused on health-related news and interviews, helping to inform viewers with practical insights and medical updates.
From 2014 to 2017, Tanya Rivero hosted Lunch Break on Wall Street Journal Live. In this role, she conducted interviews, covered breaking news, and discussed topics ranging from business to lifestyle, broadening her expertise across various segments of news broadcasting.
Since 2017, Rivero has served as a news anchor for CBSN, the streaming video news channel operated by CBS News. At CBSN, she continues to contribute to live coverage and original programming, playing a key role in delivering timely and reliable news to digital audiences.
