During his childhood, the family lived in various parts of the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom.
Dekker began acting at the age of six, appearing in the soap opera The Young and the Restless. He went on to feature in small roles in major television series and films, including Star Trek Generations and two episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. He also appeared in John Carpenter’s 1995 horror film Village of the Damned and guest-starred in an episode of Seinfeld as the character Bobby.

Dekker began writing music at the age of ten while living in Canada. At fifteen, he signed a recording deal but ultimately chose to pursue an independent musical path due to creative differences. By sixteen, he was composing classical music and later merged influences from electrofolk music into his work. His debut album, Psyanotic, was released in 2008 and showcased his talents as a singer, songwriter, and producer.
Dekker has spoken publicly about being a victim of sexual molestation during his childhood. During his teenage years, he became part of the metalhead subculture, a period he associated with rebellious behavior. He has admitted to facing legal troubles, including at least six arrests while living in Las Vegas.
Regarding his sexuality, Dekker has expressed that he went through a process of self-discovery. In earlier interviews, he mentioned that although he hadn’t had a girlfriend at the time, he had been in relationships with women and was still exploring his sexual identity.
