Vincent Joseph "Vinnie" Politan is a broadcast journalist and the Lead Anchor of Court TV. He was formerly a New Jersey county prosecutor and is currently a practicing private attorney. He is the host and creator of the primetime show Closing Arguments with Vinnie Politan, which is the Network's top-viewed primetime show. Vinnie examines the most remarkable true-crime mysteries, trials, and police films of the day every night from 8-11 p.m.
Politan was born and raised in New Jersey, with his brother and father, Nicholas H. Politan, a federal judge. His sibling works as a business lawyer, though there is little data available about his sibling and mother. He graduated from West Orange High School in West Orange, New Jersey, where he was captain of the basketball team his junior and senior years, leading the team to back-to-back conference titles and a state sectional title. He then received an AB in Communication from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, before attending Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey.
Initially, Vinnie started his career as an assistant prosecutor at the Prosecutor's office in Bergen. He later started a private practice and worked on cases until he began focusing on broadcasting as a career. Politan started his broadcasting career in New Jersey at a local cable station. He later moved on to Orlando in Florida, where he served as anchor and reporter for Central Florida News 13. In 2001, he was offered a job as a correspondent and anchor at Court TV (now called truTV) for his experience in law and broadcasting. Vinnie also worked in radio at Sirius XM radio hosting national radio shows for many years, including the 'Me and Vinnie' Show and the Court TV Morning show. He has also done daily trial reporting for the show 'Bloom & Politan: Open Court with Lisa Bloom' and the show 'Both Sides' where Kimberly Guilfoyle was his co-host.
While at Central Florida News, Vinnie covered the 2000 election at both the Democratic and Republican conventions, as well as the recount. He has reported on many prominent cases, such as the murder trial of Scott Peterson, actor Robert Blake, and Casey Anthony, the sexual assault cases against Kobe Bryant, the acquittal of Michael Jackson in the child molestation case filed against him, and Lindsay Lohan's legal confrontations. Vinnie is also an actor, having appeared in the Broadway production of Twelve Angry Men, and as a detective on the TV series Law & Order. As a litigator, he has handled labor disputes, criminal cases, malpractice cases against AIG, the world's largest insurance company, and intellectual property rights cases.
Vinnie, the A&R Director at Metropolitan Recording Corporation, is married. In 2002, he married his wife, Dolly Politan, almost two decades ago. Their wedding ceremony was intimate, with only their closest friends, family, and relatives in attendance. Christina Politan, the couple's daughter, and Vincent Politan Jr. and Max Politan, the couple's two sons, are three beautiful children. Furthermore, the Politan family resides in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
