Whitney Port is an American television personality, fashion designer, and author. She is best known for her role on the MTV reality series The Hills.
Whitney Eve Port was born on March 4, 1985, in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of Vicki Port and the late Jeffrey Port. Whitney has one brother, Ryan Port, and three sisters—Paige, Jade, and Ashley Port.
She attended Warner Avenue Elementary School, where she served as class president in fifth grade. Port later attended the Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica. She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2007 with a degree in gender studies. During her time at USC, she held internships at notable fashion publications such as Women's Wear Daily and W magazine. It has been reported that she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority while in college.
Whitney Port gained national attention through her appearance on MTV’s reality television series The Hills, which documented the personal and professional lives of several young women in Los Angeles. During her time on the show, Port interned at Teen Vogue alongside co-star Lauren Conrad, highlighting her budding interest in fashion.
Following her success on The Hills, she starred in its spin-off series, The City, which focused on her move to New York City to pursue a career in fashion. The show aired from 2008 to 2010 and provided a platform for her to establish herself in the fashion industry.
In 2008, Port launched her own fashion line, Whitney Eve, which featured feminine, contemporary designs. She received praise for her efforts to transition from television personality to fashion designer.
In January 2011, she was featured in Maxim magazine and later that year published her debut book, True Whit: Designing a Life of Style, Beauty, and Fun. The book served as a lifestyle resource and offered insights into her personal and professional journey.
Whitney previously dated Ben Nemtin of MTV’s The Buried Life and described him in 2011 as embodying many qualities of an ideal partner. The couple eventually separated for undisclosed reasons.
In 2013, Port began dating Tim Rosenman, a former producer on The City. The couple married in November 2015 and later welcomed a son, Sonny Sanford Rosenman, in July 2017.
In an episode of her podcast With Whit, released in August 2019, Port shared a candid story during a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar director Andrea Cuttler. She revealed a brief yet uneventful interaction she had with actor Leonardo DiCaprio in 2009. Although they exchanged contact information and kept in touch for a few months, nothing developed from the encounter. Port expressed some personal regret about how the situation unfolded, though she acknowledged it with humor.
