Willie Robertson was born in 1972 at Tri-Ward General Hospital in Bernice, located in Union Parish, North Louisiana. He is the third of four sons born to Phil and Kay Robertson. His older brothers are Alan and Jase, and his younger brother is Jep. Growing up in a close-knit family, Willie developed a strong interest in outdoor activities, particularly hunting. He also became actively involved in Duck Commander, the small family business his father founded, helping with everything from fieldwork to taking business calls and assembling duck calls.
Willie attended Harding University before graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a degree in business. His education provided him with the knowledge and skills to transform Duck Commander from a modest family venture into a highly successful enterprise. In recognition of their achievements, both Willie and his wife Korie were named Outstanding Young Alumni by Harding University.
Willie married Korie Howard in 1992. Korie, the daughter of Chrys and John Howard, is also prominently featured on Duck Dynasty. The couple resides in West Monroe, Louisiana, and are proud parents to six children: Rebecca, John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella, and Rowdy.
Willie’s business acumen played a pivotal role in transforming Duck Commander into a multimillion-dollar company. This success laid the foundation for the hit reality TV series Duck Dynasty, which aired on A&E and brought national recognition to the Robertson family. As the CEO of Duck Commander, Willie not only guided the business toward financial success but also helped build a distinctive brand image tied closely to their lifestyle and family values.
In addition to Duck Commander, Willie launched Buck Commander in 2006. This venture focused on deer hunting and produced a series of DVDs and a television show titled Buck Commander, featured on the Outdoor Channel and supported by Under Armour. These ventures cemented his reputation as an influential outdoorsman and entrepreneur.
Willie Robertson has made several media appearances that extended his influence beyond television. He and Korie appeared in the Christian film God’s Not Dead and he guest-starred in an episode of Last Man Standing. Known for his distinctive look—including a white suit jacket, an American flag bandana, and a signature ZZ Top-style beard—Willie has become a recognizable figure in both mainstream and Christian media circles.
Willie's public persona is deeply intertwined with his Christian faith. As a member of the Churches of Christ, he often speaks openly about his beliefs and shares his faith in various forums. In 2014, he attended the State of the Union Address as a guest of then-U.S. Representative Vance McAllister, further highlighting his crossover appeal in public and political circles.
In 2014, Willie Robertson was honored with the Governor’s Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence, recognizing his role in turning Duck Commander into a leading outdoor lifestyle brand. His estimated net worth is approximately $20 million, largely accumulated through the success of Duck Commander, Buck Commander, and his television appearances.
