Ella was born as Cherron Hoye, in Illinois. She changed her name after she got into acting career, like many other actors. She was then raised in Michigan. She took up Performing Arts and Dramatic Arts studies. She took up many mentors and worked in many theaters, before she landed in television. She married Dan Martin in 1992. He is also an actor known for many live actions like The Bold and Beautiful, Burn Notice and others.

She is currently living with her husband, in California. She is almost married for more than 20 years and their marriage is going strong. She is not known to have any children. Her relationship with Dan and their current success in marital life is not known to public. Career

Even before she changed her name to Ella, she had her first debut in Newlywed Game in 1988, for a small role. This inspired her to take up acting, as her profession. She worked in American and overseas theaters and gave many notable works like Fences, Medea and Doll, Steppin’ into Tomorrow and others. Her work gave many awards like Jefferson Award and others. She also appeared in a lot of stage plays. Her theater performances provided many awards and nominations including NAACP, AUDELCO, Spirit of Detroit award and many others. She also played many small roles in TV like Bubba Ho Tep, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, Preacher’s Kid, Nina and many others.

Though she is still in her acting career, she also started to teach acting and is a personal acting coach and consultant. She is considerably successful in this field and has worked with many actors like Toni Braxton. Her first book, Kink Phobia was released. It is said to be her biography of her hair adventures and emergencies. She has also taken the career of fitness instructor for soul fitness class called Funkacize. Though she is almost 60, she is working like she is in her prime age. She is currently working in ‘Being Mary’ in a guest role and also in other small roles. She is working on a multitude of acting jobs like Resolution Song, Mee and McGee, The Magnificent Room, Wanda’s Place and many others. She also produced three productions like Frozen hot, Resolution Song and Clockin’ Green.
