Early Life and Education

Emily Osment was born to actor Michael Eugene Osment and Theresa Osment, an English teacher. From a young age, Emily showed a strong interest in acting. She began her career by appearing in commercials before transitioning to film and television roles. Her first acting role was in the 1999 film The Secret Life of Girls. That same year, she starred in the television film Sarah, Plain and Tall: Winter's End, which earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Emily later graduated from Occidental College in California.

Breakthrough with Spy Kids and Hannah Montana

Emily's significant film break came in 2002 when she portrayed Gerti Giggles in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams. The film was a box-office success and earned her another Young Artist Award nomination. She reprised the role in the sequel, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, which also performed well commercially.

In 2006, Emily was cast as Lilly Truscott in the hugely popular Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, starring alongside Miley Cyrus. The show quickly gained a massive audience, with over 5.4 million viewers tuning in globally. Emily actively participated in promotional events and interviews for the series.

Musical Endeavors and Live Performances

Emily contributed musically to the Hannah Montana series, writing and performing songs that featured on the show. On December 25, 2007, she performed in Walt Disney World's Christmas Day Parade, sharing the stage with co-star Miley Cyrus. In 2008, she recorded the duet "If I Didn't Have You" with fellow Disney Channel star Mitchel Musso. Later that year, she released a cover of "Once Upon a Dream" on September 8, which was well-received by fans.
