Erik King's first appearance on screen was in 1983 on Kennedy, a show of entertainment which was directed by Una Pierce and its host was Mary Kennedy. He later starred in such shows as NYPD Blue, JAG, and Matlock. Despite the fact that Erik King does not have that big of a repertoire in terms of movies and TV shows he has appeared in, there were a few that are memorable. His portrayal of Moses Deyell in Oz was one of the highlights of his career. King also had roles in Malcolm In The Middle as well as CSI: Miami.

In terms of his movie career, Erik King starred in Barbet Schroeder's thriller Desperate Measures with high-caliber actors like Michael Keaton and Andy Garcia.
