Early Baseball Career

Baseball began as a hobby for Hernández before becoming his professional pursuit. Demonstrating extraordinary athletic ability from a young age, he frequently played against much older competitors. At just 14 years old, his pitching skills caught the attention of scouts, and by the age of 16, he had signed a professional contract with the Seattle Mariners.

Seattle Mariners and MLB Debut

Hernández made his Major League Baseball debut on August 4, 2005, with the Seattle Mariners, a team he remained loyal to throughout his career. In 2004, he was named the Mariners’ Minor League Pitcher of the Year. Throughout his career, Hernández has received numerous accolades, including the AL Cy Young Award in 2010.
