Famous Dex was born as Dexter Gore Jr. on September 6, 1993 in Englewood, Chicago, Illinois. Dex was born and raised in Englewood where he grew up in a music driven family. After losing his mom to a fight with breast cancer in 2015, Famous Dex decided to go for his life’s purpose. Losing his mom was tough on him and he needed to find a passion to keep his mind off the sadness. He decided to pursue music and started free styling on beat tracks and dancing in his friend's music videos. His rapping and dancing earned him instant recognition among hip hop fans.

Career

At a young age, the self-made rapper, Famous Dex is slowly becoming Chicago's young turn-up rap prodigy. Famous for his flamboyant heavy beats and vibrant party lyrics, Famous Dex brings his unique skills to the table. He expresses a dynamic and vivid flow that is rare in today’s music culture.

With the collection of five incredibly solid mixtape releases under his musical belt, Famous Dex went from 50,000 YouTube views in one month to having more than 50,000 views in one minute. It was a great sign for him and show him how far he’d come in the rap game since he first started out.
