Vina Fay Wray was born close to Cardston, Alberta, Canada, on September 15, 1907. Fay was from an expansive family that included five siblings. She moved to Arizona when she was still little. The move was for her father to discover preferable work over what was offered in Alberta.

In the wake of moving again to California, her folks separated, which put whatever remains of the family in tough spots. Being in the excitement of Los Angeles lifestyle, there was abundant chance to exploit the odds that may come her way in the entertainment industry.

Career

At 16 years old, Fay assumed her first role in a film, but it was a little one. The film was Gasoline Love in 1923. The film was not a hit, nor was it a starting vehicle for her career but she didn’t give up.

With a stellar acting career that spanned nearly six decades, Wray attained international recognition as an actress in classic horror films. She has been dubbed as one of the first "scream queens" that audiences would root for as she battled evil.
