After graduation, she returned to United States and would soon land a job with the CBS Morning news in New York as an anchor. Shortly after, she moved to Oklahoma and worked for the CBS’s affiliate KWTV. She then rejoined with the morning show working off camera.

She would prove to be so gorgeous and full of talent that she was among the few selected reporters to cover the presidential campaign in 1996. At the event, she would carry herself so well that the world would notice that a super anchor was in the making. It never took long before opportunities came knocking.

She currently works for the NBC News where she has risen to be among the most popular anchors in the history of the television industry.

Her talent is so immense that she has been nominated for several Emmy awards throughout her career. She has won the award twice, in 2003 and 2007. They have two kids- daughter Tessa born in 2010 and son Laz Conrad River born in 2012. She enjoys her marriage so much that she revealed in an interview that her most treasured moment was when in 2013 she went for a seven-month leave. At the time she realized that she was a mother and had to up bring her children in the most upright way. The family enjoys each other’s presence and Rivera recently hinted in an interview that the most treasured thing she would love to happen one day is to spend time with the biological parent of her husband. Stuard Fraass was adopted and has been relentlessly searching for his parents to no avail.
