The Secret Life of the American Teenager had won her several recognitions in the year 2012. The role of Adrian Lee in the series had won her the Gracie Award and also the La Femme Film Festival Rising Star Award. She was also nominated for the IMAGEN and ALMA awards. She was born on July 26, 1988 to Virginia Almendarez and Maximo Renan in Southern California. She had her interest in dance right from the age of 5. By the time she entered Junior High school she moved on to acting and modelling. Soon her skills were recognized and she began appearing in advertisements and then got her first breakthrough role in the movie Bring It On: All or Nothing opposite Hayden Panettiere.

Career

Francia Raisa began her career as a model and also did small guest roles in television series. The cheerleading comedy movie Bring It On: All or Nothing brought her into the limelight with the role of Leti in 2006. In June 2007, she played the role of Isabelle in Shredderman Rules aired on Nickelodeon which was reported to have had 3.9 million viewers. She played the lead role of Alejandra Delgado in the top rated ABC TV series - The Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dream and also the fourth edition Fire and Ice in 2008. Other than movies and TV shows, she has also starred in music videos notably “My Girlfriend” and “So Big”,

2008 saw great prospects for the star with the American teen base drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager that was aired on ABC Family. The series was aired from 2008 to 2013. Later in 2013 she starred in the movie Christmas Bounty and also hosted the show “WTFrancia” in 2015 on Dash Radio.

Francia Raisa’s father is a renowned radio personality and DJ. Her family have been rather supportive in her career. With a Hispanic minority origin, she has struggled to get through her career. She has two sisters, Italia and Irlanda. She was a cheerleader in her school at Bishop Alemany High School. She has good friendship with the popular singer and actress Selena Gomez and have been spotted together.
