Georgina Rose Chapman was born on April 14, 1976, in London, England. She is the daughter of Caroline Wonfor, a journalist, and Brian Chapman, a co-owner of a coffee company. During her early years, Chapman faced physical and learning challenges—she was born with a hip defect that caused a pigeon-toed gait and was later diagnosed with dyslexia.
Chapman attended Marlborough College, an independent boarding school in Wiltshire. She later studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design, where she pursued her passion for fashion and met her future business partner, Keren Craig.
