Graham Norton is a stage name for Graham William Walker and he is an Irish Comic presenter. He is based in United Kingdom where he is well known because of hosting a comedy show under the name The Graham Norton Show. It was first shown on BBC Two but in the end it was taken to BBC one. He is a presenter on BBC Radio 2 and a commentator on the BBC television on Eurovision Song Contest. He won BAFTA TV Award five times because of his Best Entertainment Performance.
Graham Norton was born in Dublin and he did his studies in the Bandon Grammar School in the West Cork. He did French and English there but he did not finish the studies. He got an honorary doctorate degree with the University College Cork.
Graham Norton said that he felt that he was out of place because he was raised as a Protestant in the country where most people where catholic. He took part in the program on TV known as Who do You Think You Are? So that he trace where he came from. It came to be known that his family came from Yorkshire and were sent to Irish land for takeover.
In 1988, when living in London, he was beaten, stabbed and mugged. He lost half of his blood and he took more than two weeks in hospital. He returned to shot a film at the place of the mug in 2013, and he said that he felt uneasy, however this was not known by the directors. Graham Norton has two dogs, a labradoodle under the name of Bailey with the Second dog Madge that he adopted from a UK charity Dogs Trust.
